First, let’s define Fitness:
For some, fitness is the difference between life and death. For others, fitness is the difference between a life well-lived and a life squandered. We define fitness as work capacity across broad time and modal domain. We believe you are only as fit as you are competent in the following areas: Cardiovascular endurance, strength, stamina, speed, flexibility, agility, accuracy, balance, power, and coordination. The better you are at all 10 aspects of fitness, the more fit and athletic you are overall. How fit is the marathon runner who can barely do pull ups? Or, how fit is the power lifter that runs a 15 minute mile? See where we are going with this?
CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that employs weight lifting, gymnastics, and metabolic conditioning movements. We define CrossFit as a workout that consist of functional movements that are constantly varied and are executed at a relatively high intensity.
Do not be intimidated. We believe the basic functional needs for each human being are the same, they only vary by degree. Just as we want the olympian to deadlift 400 lb, we want the grandmother to to effectively pick up the laundry basket—correctly and without injury.
At our facility, the workout of the day (WOD) will provide you with a daily challenge. Our goal is to help you get as fit as possible, reach your goals, and ultimately live a happier and healthier life.
